GEORGE WHITE ELEMENTARY

Science provides the opportunity for our students to learn about the world they live in. Our curriculum provides learning objectives at each grade level in the areas of physical, earth, and life sciences. Students are taught to use the scientific thinking processes of observation, comparison, inference, organization and communication. Science also extends into literature, writing, and math.  Students research and write reports, gather data for graphs, and investigate concepts through hand-on experiments.

 

Our annual Science Fest, sponsored by PTA, celebrates the joy of learning through science. Students and their families are encouraged to participate in scientific investigations at home.  Many of our classes conduct their experiments in small groups in the classrooms. We are all very excited this year to implement our new science series by Macmillan/McGraw-Hill.
